My husband and I decided to take a trip to Gettysburg, Pa as part of our ten year anniversary. We heard such great things about it and we were always intreagued by ghosts and spirits and thought it would be a great experience.
We rented a room at the Farnsworth Inn for the night of Sept 6 into the 7th. We were booked with the Jenny Wade room.
Once we arrived and were led to our room, we were stunned to see a huge portrait of Jenny Wade starring at the bed. Kind of creepy to say the least. The room was great.
Once we settled into the room, we decided that we would go walk a few of the shops in town. Being ghost freaks that we are, we setup a few pens and other items on the bed so while we were gone, if anything was moved or misplaced, we knew there was activity. (we saw this on ghost hunters, lol). Came back nothing, we thought oh well.
While we were shopping, we ran into a local who was caring for a store we were at. She asked us if we were having a good time and where we were staying at. We told her we were staying at the Farnsworth Inn. She gave us this look like, Are you kidding?..She said Youre staying there? We said yes, why? She said, well I know alot of people don't like it there. So I spoke up and said why, anything happen? She said, yeah, that place is really haunted. So I looked at my hubby and was like uh oh...what are we doing..lol
So we went on browsing some more stores, ate dinner at the Dobbin House (EXCELLENT food) then we were walking back and were trying to decide which tour to take. So we ended up deciding on the Farnsworth tour.
The tour started at 8:30pm up in the Farnsworth Inn attic....very creepy...
My husband was the last one in the attic and was asked to shut and latch the door. He did...The tour guide then stands up and salutes the snipers. Tour guide starts the history lesson and all of a sudden the latch on the door pops open. I looked and grabbed onto my hubby so scared. The tour guide says, dont be afraid that is just Jeremy. He then would go into the story of Jeremy. As he is talking the door slowly opens. Jeremy is greeted and told to come in. At this point, Im not sure If I should stay or not, lol......Nothing else happened in the attic.
We continued on our tour and he took us around to some of the original houses from the 1800's during the war. The last place we stopped was on at the now high school field across from the Inn, pitch black, no lights around except for the little candle in the tour guides lanter. He proceeds to tell us his experiences there. Then all of a sudden, the night bugs (crickets and such) stopped on our right hand side. But the left side were still making noise. Thought that was very strange. The whole time on the field, I am ttaking pictures.
As we are walking back to the inn, I just glanced at the pictures I took and noticed in one, I caught an orb. Just one little brite one. It looks amazing. There was no wind, no pollen, no dust, nothing. Here is the pic
Isn't it great? If you blow it up more, it looks even better.
Anyways, we get back to the room, its around 11pm at night. My hubby then decides to setup the video camera. I said, I dont know if that is such a good idea or not. That might be like asking them to be known, lol.....so he sets it up anyways....we finally fall asleep....
WELL, at about 2 in the morning, I felt pressure on the bed like someone sat on the bed, I rolled over, heart pounding, stomach all in knots and look at my hubby. He is sound a sleep. I stayed awake for about 2 hours. I was so scared but at the same time, not threatned.
I finally fall back asleep and as Im sleeping, I kept smelling like a sweet flower smell. Now thinking it was just my head, in the morning I looked for plugins, or air freshners, and NOTHING. All I kept doing was praying for daylight to come...The bed thing freaked me out.
We woke up, ate breakfast and left for home. While we are driving home, we get a call from a relative saying they were sorry they missed our call from that night. We said, we didnt call you. She got a call from PA with the same area code where we were at. We left our cell phones in our room during the tour and we didn't have a phone in our room. The call happened while we were on the tour.....Explain that one????
It was the best yet most scared experience ever......I would probably go back, LOL....
